Summer Nutrition & Wellness Instructor6-week program | Ages 5–7 and 9–12 | ~100 students total

  • Led engaging, age-appropriate health and nutrition lessons based on the USDA MyPlate model, focusing on the five major food groups: Vegetables, Fruits, Grains, Protein, and Dairy.

  • Facilitated hands-on fruit and vegetable tastings to encourage trying new foods and build healthy eating habits.

  • Delivered interactive lessons on hydration and its importance for maintaining overall health and energy.

  • Organized active learning games, including movement-based guessing activities where students identified foods by category (e.g., protein, grain) through physical activity and play.

  • Incorporated literacy through nutrition-themed word searches and vocabulary games to reinforce reading and comprehension skills.

  • Taught two separate age groups (5–7 and 9–12) in 1-hour sessions, adapting content and activities to match developmental levels.

  • Fostered a positive and energetic learning environment that promoted healthy lifestyle choices and teamwork.

Outcome: Successfully engaged nearly 100 students in nutrition education and physical activity, promoting awareness of balanced eating and wellness in a fun, interactive format.
